Instagram fashion links

If you've been following me on IG, you have probably seen me post a few of my favorite transitions pieces for summer into fall. As promised, I've linked them below. 😊
 | sweatshirt | | bralette |
This Treasure+Bond slouchy pull over is super soft and comfortable. And it's  less than $30! I am definitely going to grab it in the mustard yellow color, as well! And with all the OTS sweaters that you'll be seeing this season, cute bralettes and camisoles with pretty straps will be super useful! This one is a go-to with the ultra feminine thin strap.
If you want a strap that makes more of a statement (showing that yes, I know my strap is showing and I planned it that way...)go for this one.
| Dooney & Burke | | Heels |
This purse is one that my husband gifted me last year, but I absolutely love it. The Barlow's soft pleats and structured shape is casual and chic and this version is the perfect size for day or night.
The animal print heels are one of the hottest trends of the season, and these shoes are totally comfortable... so win-win! I also love the same ankle strap heels in this mauve suede found here
| sweater | | jeans | | shoes |
This sweater is less than $30 and is easy to dress up or down. The jeans are my FAVORITE ever, and available at better prices on Amazon. I always suggest putting it in your cart and then waiting a day or two to see if the price drops. Once it does, CHECK OUT! It will bounce back up to regular price so keep watching. I did the same thing with these Sam Edelman heels, and today they are less than $50 on Amazon... such a good deal! And they have transitioned really well from spring all the way through summer and into early fall with me 😉

If you haven't been following me on Instagram, please do! I'd love to hear from you and follow you back. You can find me here or search @style_on_pointe!

Rainy Day Dinner Style

I love putting together new looks and piecing together outfits. This is one I laid out for a quick and simple evening with friends. It's been a rainy day and so the weather has a bit of chill in the air and I am using that, along with the restaurants air conditioning, to my advantage with this Fall look! I linked the details below!

Also, the sweater and jeans run true to size, but I would size up in the heels! They are available at Nordstrom as well, here, but I got a better price (almost $100 less!) through Amazon 😀

Is it FALL yet?! || Fall Fashion Round Up ||

I love that pre-season football has started. It reminds me that the heat is going to break soon and Autumn is almost here. ALMOST.
Don't get me wrong. I am definitely making the most of the last days of summer, but I love the anticipation of Fall because of the wardrobe changes. Cozy sweaters and blankets are kind of my thing. 😁
So, in preparation for the "-ber" months, I've been doing online shopping and taking advantage of some of the great discounts available now.

I actually started getting boxes early this week and decided to hide them under my daughters bed.🙈
It was partly because I didn't want to answer why I was buying these warm clothes when it's 95 degrees out, and partly because we will be moving in a few weeks and I figured I could wait to open them until I was unpacking in the new home. I was wrong. I couldn't wait. Go figure.

So now I have more to pack, but I also have more to share with you 😀
Up first, is this perfect transition piece, Thistle & Finn. The short sleeve sweater tunic is so easy to wear!
| sweater tunic |
Another great grab from Thistle & Finn, is this super comfy grey cardigan hoodie. I love that it's light weight enough to wear now with a cami and later over long sleeves. I may need to get the oatmeal color, too!
| cardigan hoodie |
So before I even tried it on, I bought this sweater from Missguided in two colors. I just knew I would love it-- and I do! It's available in a ton of color options so check it out!
| black off the shoulder |
| beige off the shoulder |
Now, I also stocked up on some jeans. Express is having a great sale on denim, so if you've been wanting some new jeans and love the distressed look-- this is your go-to. Today the offer is buy one get one for $19.90! Seriously... great jeans for less than $20?! OKAY! I also grabbed a pair of white jean leggings... I love white in winter and these with booties and an off the shoulder tunic will be perfect!
| distressed stretch |

| white stretch jean legging |
Paige denim is my go-to. They never fail me with fit and style. A secret I've learned? Check Amazon. I will put a pair that I want in my cart and wait a few days for the price to drop. Seriously. I got these for $85, and today the price is $239. Sizes and styles change price almost everyday, so do a search once in a while and you may luck out 😉
| distressed boyfriend jeans |
When is the last time you've tried Levis? I think I was in elementary school, but I saw these cute jeans on Amazon and am so happy I gave them a try. Plus they're only about $30!
| distressed skinny |
I also bought a go to over the knee boot on Amazon. I have them in black and now purchased the taupe color and love them. I did size up a whole size! I usually wear an 8.5 but purchased a 9.5 and am happy I did. They fit perfectly and they're offered for only $33.99 today! 😱
| Steve Madden OTK boots |
Well, that's my Fall fashion round-up... for now! I'd love to hear if you get any of these pieces and what you think... and if you bargain shop on Amazon 😜

Kitchen Inspiration

I've written previously that my husband and I are in the midst of a total remodel. We are finally wrapping it up and I am so anxious to share the final photos with you! But for now, I have lots of "inspiration","construtction zone", & "progress pictures" to share.

Today I wanted to post what the kitchen is eventually going to be. The lights, the cabinets, the backsplash and counters... really the details. I made most of these selections almost 2 years ago 😳 and still am happy and in love with the choices. I think thats a good sign. It means the decisions I made were right for me, my style and my wants. That's what I think we all want in our home. Something that is timeless for us as individuals. It's not about fads and trends... it's about what will make you happy in your space. If the house is a flip, or one you only plan on being in for 1-3 years, then I will recommend to follow the popular options; but otherwise, it's all about making the home a reflection of the owners.
💜
So, back to my kitchen. I say "my" kitchen on purpose. It is not "our" space. My husband doesn't cook. He grills. Outside. The outside living area is his... with my design input... but his space. The kitchen- she's mine, all mine.
I love a white kitchen. But I also love color. I think it's my eternal struggle. I want it all. I love the clean white fresh look... but I want fuchsia and magenta and mint to make small appearances. It's probably a reflection of my south Florida art deco roots.

Since we made the home open concept, it was important for me to make the primary wall cohesive and beautiful. I moved the range to the center of the visual wall and built two windows to flank it. On the outer side of the windows are two stacks of cabinets; both have an appliance garage and then glass uppers above with prairie details.

I love appliance garages. I think they're magnificent. Seriously, why would you choose to see your toaster oven if you don't have to? Or how convenient would it be to tuck that crockpot into it's own little nook every other day? My condo on South Beach had a built in corner bread box and I used it to hide my toaster, so I'm pretty sure that's where my obsession began with disguising kitchen appliances. 😆

The kitchen island should be a statement whenever it can be. This one will be just with size alone. It is a 10' x 7' single marble slab island. When drawing it out everyone said we would need to go with a manmade top or have a seam in the island. We looked into book matching marble pieces but both Joel and I were adamant we wanted one piece... with no seams. And we really were not willing to spend the money on book matching.
Thankfully, we found it. Locally! Walker Zanger had a beautiful white and gray marble slab called Breccia Argenta. It is exactly what we were looking for... a white marble but with a lot of movement so when it ultimately has a stain or evidence of human-use, it isn't an eye sore. Seriously, a white marble kitchen island with 3 children ages 4 and younger is not the safe choice. But I love white marble... and I love my kids even though they're messy and hard on things... so we found the perfect slab to suit our family.

To break up the white and play off the charcoal veins in the island counter top, I chose a Mariana Soapstone for the perimeter counters. Soapstone is a soft material and people love it or hate it; I love it. Plus it pairs beautifully with the Caitlin Wilson wallpaper I chose for the picture window wall in the kitchen. Like I said, I like a white kitchen, but I love color!

This leads to the cabinet pulls. I've vacillated on this part; between a solid black to coordinate with the black hardware throughout the house, or a crystal lucite look. I decided to go with black. The great thing about cabinet pulls is that they are super easy to switch out and don't need to be very expensive. It's something you can find at a local hardware store or get fun ones from Easy and switch out in no time!
I found this image on Pinterest a couple years ago with no link back to products and finally found a handle match a few months ago.

I could find some that were very similar but they all had an arch and I was not interested in that. I like 90 degree angles. This comes in a couple different sizes and multiple finishes.

Now for the lighting...
I am going to show what I have selected, but my husband isn't thrilled. He's very stuck on the chains and would prefer a solid rod extension instead. I don't find the need for it. Plus, I believe the chain brings a more casual feel and a rod makes it a bit too formal for a family kitchen. Anyway, I love these lanterns because of the double layer framing of the light. It's simple, yet fresh; classic, and unique.

So, what do you think? I can't wait to share more of the progress pictures and then obviously the final product! I feel like this kitchen will make me a better cook... here's hoping! 😂

Selfie with Surround

I like to show up to the worksite everyday. It doesn't always happen because of my other schedules, having the children, and just life in general... but it's something I try to get done.
Yesterday I got there around 2:00 pm and everyone had wrapped up for the day. I was doing my walk-thru, checking trim install, and measuring for mirrors. I love the fireplace surround and took a picture of it, and then decided to take a selfie with it. (#millenialproblems 🙈)
The fireplace surround is a mosaic of 4 complimenting 3 x 8 tiles in a subway lay. I love that there are various textures ranging from raked to polished and some glistening specs of silver that reflect so nicely in the sun light!
All the items I am wearing are still available and some are on sale, so I've listed below.

These shorts are currently on SALE, and sizes are limited but check to see if yours is available... and you can easily size down.
I LOVE this shirt and it is currently on SALE, here , and available in 8 colors for under $30! What I love most is how versatile it is; I'm wearing it with shorts and sandals and can easily transition it to leggings and boots for Fall. Truly a year-round item!
These shoes are so comfortable and only $27 on Amazon. You can never go wrong with Sam Edelman shoes!
This Jook + Nona necklace is so easy to wear with everything and anything. I chose the "love" tag but there are other sweet options, as well. And it would make a nice gift 😉

1 Year Old Babies & Their Cakes

Like I have mentioned, I have three children all age 4 and under. It seems funny to say, but things have changed a lot just in the 4 1/2 years I've been a mom. From my oldest to my youngest, technology and toys and traditions have definitely evolved. I know-- I said it sounds funny-- but it's true.
One thing that has changed a bit, is the way we photograph. When I was pregnant with my first I went to a ritzy photography boutique and paid an exorbitant amount to have pictures taken over the course of a year. It was a newborn package that included maternity, newborn, 6 months and 1 year photoshoots. We ended up moving before my daughter turned 1 but the photos I have from the first 3 sessions, I love.
I didn't take that approach with my other two. I ended up finding local moms who ran photography businesses from their home. I love the pictures I have taken with them just as much... and I feel that I've formed friendships with these moms, as well. It's definitely my preferred way to photograph my kids. It's more natural to be outside in a yard or on the beach letting the kids play and twirling them around in the sunlight than to be lying on a studio floor getting a crick in my neck attempting to smile at a camera while holding my baby above my head. 😂 (Truthfully, I love that shot, but I'm more into displaying organic photography and so my "airplane baby" photo is not hanging on my walls... it's tucked in a photo album.)
One of the moments I wish I had professional pictures of with my first was her cake smash. She was amazing with that cake, and the pictures I have don't do it justice. (They don't do the extraordinary fondant decor on her little cake or the massive three-tiered one justice either. Yes, I went overboard, and yes, I did it for the my others, as well. Birthdays are super important in my house!) However, I had special photoshoots with my boys to capture their cake smash and I love them so much. The kids really enjoy looking at the pictures, too!
How do you capture your special moments? Photography studios, home studios, self-captured? I'd love to hear!
